Trabzon
Trabzon is an ancient port city with a history of 4000 years. In the historical process, Trabzon has always been a focal point for the states existing in the region, thanks to its geographical location and port. This importance increased during the Byzantine, Komnenos and Ottoman Empire periods. In this case, we find the opportunity to visit artifacts and places from these periods.
Our first stop is Boztepe, which sees the city of Trabzon from a bird's eye view. Boztepe is a preferred stopping point day and night, with its location dominating the city and its climate, which is milder than the center due to its altitude. From here, you can enjoy the dazzling beauty of Trabzon and the vast waters of the Black Sea.
After Boztepe, we set off towards the Atatürk Mansion in Soğuksu. Ataturk's mansion is located in an area that has been used as a summer residence since the old times of the city. This building, which reflects the architectural features of its period very well, welcomes us as a treasure in nature with its garden around it. The historical materials in it shed light on our past.
Our third stop, the Hagia Sophia Mosque, is a place that is true to its name. They wanted to build such a structure in Trabzon because of the longing and importance of Hagia Sophia in Trabzon, where they came after the Komnenos dynasty was exiled from Istanbul. In fact, there are many things that can be told about Hagia Sophia, we will talk about them during our trip.
We leave Hagia Sophia and move on to the Akcaabat region on the west coast of the city. Here, we visit Orta neighborhood, which takes us to the middle of history with its historical mansions, stone masonry roads, centuries-old trees and magnificent scenery. Not here without a coffee.
Finally, we visit the aquarium and the Botanical garden, which contains more than 150 local plants, and we end our tour.
